Brief

The client arrived with a saved photograph of a delicate pear solitaire in warm gold, admiring its clean lines and romantic silhouette. She explained that while she loved the simplicity, she wanted something with serious presence and a hidden element of sparkle that would not compete with the pear's outline. Her vision was clear: keep the elegance of the original design but elevate the scale and introduce subtle brilliance beneath the surface where only she would know it lived.

3D render

Our design team translated her vision into precise 3D renders, exploring how the 2ct pear would sit within a hidden halo frame and how much pavé the band could carry without overwhelming the clean lines. We tested prong placement to ensure the diamond's point remained protected and the shoulders stayed slim. She approved the angle of the head, the depth of the halo recess, and the 14k gold tone. Once the proportions felt balanced, we locked the final geometry for production.

Stone selection

We presented a selection of pear-shaped lab-grown diamonds that balanced size with optical precision, ultimately securing a 2ct stone certified by IGI with E color and VVS2 clarity. The client prioritized a near-colorless face and minimal inclusions to ensure maximum light return across the elongated facets. The excellent cut grade delivered the crisp bow-tie effect and brilliant dispersion she wanted, while the lab origin allowed her to reach the 2ct threshold without compromise. The stone's proportions complemented the tapered shank she had admired in her reference.

Setting

The team built the setting in 14k gold, engineering a six-prong head that balanced security with visual lightness around the elongated pear shape. The hidden halo sat recessed beneath the crown, creating lift and maximizing light return without interrupting the stone's outline. Pavé rounds traveled halfway down the shank in a shared-prong channel, their E color and VVS2 clarity mirroring the center diamond. The profile remained low enough for daily wear, while the polished gold shank tapered gently to honor the solitaire aesthetic she had originally admired.
