The client came to us with a photo of a bezel-set all-round diamond eternity band in yellow gold clean, modern, and nearly right. Stacked against her vintage-inspired engagement ring, though, it read as too uniform, too quiet. She wanted to keep everything she loved about the original: the full bezel setting for its snag-free durability, the warm 14K yellow gold, the continuous diamond circuit all the way around. What she asked us to change was the rhythm. The client came in knowing exactly the feeling she wanted something that moved around the finger, something that would hold its own next to an engagement ring or stand quietly alone. The brief pointed clearly toward a full eternity design in yellow gold, with lab diamonds and a silhouette that read as feminine but architectural.

With the alternating marquise and round pattern confirmed, the design moved into three-dimensional modeling to test how the bezel walls would behave around two distinct stone geometries. The pointed ends of the marquise required tighter bezel lips than the rounds, so renders were run across several wall-height variations to find the profile that felt cohesive rather than competing. Once the rhythm of the pattern read cleanly in yellow gold and the full-eternity silhouette held its line, the render was locked.

Stone selection

With the metal confirmed, attention turned to the diamonds themselves. Each stone in the Iris was selected to meet a E color grade and VVS2 clarity threshold standards that ensure a bright, near-colorless face-up appearance with no visible inclusions to the naked eye. The alternating marquise and round brilliant cuts were chosen not for variety alone, but because their combined geometry maximizes light return across every face of a full eternity band.

Setting design

Each stone in the Iris was seated into an individual full bezel, a continuous rim of 14K yellow gold wrapped around every marquise and every round diamond along the band. The choice eliminated prongs entirely, keeping the profile low and the silhouette uninterrupted.
